What trailers played in front of Star Wars: The Last Jedi?

The Last Jedi is a major movie event, and with that comes a ton of previews for movies coming out soon.

As excited as Star Wars fans are to see The Last Jedi, there are quite a few trailers that play before the movie actually gets started. Every movie theater will likely be a little different, but here’s a list of some of the trailers that moviegoers may see before they enjoy The Last Jedi.

Annihilation – Release date: Feb. 23, 2018: This is a fantasy/adventure starring Natalie Portman about some type of ecological disturbance that is creating new hybrid animals. Portman’s character searches for answers after her significant other is gravely ill after entering the disturbed area.

Early Man – Release date: Feb. 16, 2018: This Wallace and Gromit-style animated movie features Tom Hiddleston voicing a caveman named Dug trying to make his tribe rise above just being rabbit hunters.

The Miracle Season – Release date: April 13, 2018: Based on a true story, Helen Hunt stars as a small town volleyball coach trying to lead her team to a state title. The star player tragically dies and the girls must cope with their loss and band together as a team.

Mortal Engines – Release date Dec. 14, 2018: Anyone who enjoyed this trailer is going to have to show some patience as this movie is a full year from release. It (sort of) reunites Hugo Weaving and Peter Jackson, as Weaving is the star and Jackson was one of the writers. Based on a Philip Reeve novel, a desolate Earth is now composed of cities on wheels and the cities survive by traveling to find resources.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – Release date: June 22, 2018: Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are back for another romp with dinosaurs. This version appears to have them trying to save the dinos before a volcano erupts on the island. Jeff Goldblum is also back in some format as he makes an appearance in a courtroom scene.

Ready Player One – Release date: March 30, 2018:  For a lot of folks, hearing Steven Spielberg directed is enough of a reason to buy a ticket. This movie looks like a very interesting mashup of a ton of pop culture of the last 25 or so years. A video game designer passes away but leaves an Easter egg in the virtual reality of Oasis. The first person to find it gets half a trillion dollars and inherits his empire. There are plenty of evil forces that want the egg that star Tye Sheridan must defeat to get to it first.

Black Panther – Release date: Febr. 16, 2018: The next installment of the Marvel saga follows T’Challa (Black Panther) as he returns home to Wakanda to claim the throne after the death of his father, as seen in Civil War. He faces his own challenges to his kingdom which should lead fans nicely into the next movie, which is …

Avengers: Infinity War – Release date: May 4, 2018: A decade of Marvel movies has led to a confrontation between the Avengers and Thanos. This will be the most sprawling movie of all from Marvel to this point and features almost every character fans have seen for all these years. This is the culmination of a lot of moving parts, and seeing this one on the big screen brought out some goosebumps.

Any movie fan has to be pretty excited watching some of these trailers. The deck looks pretty stacked for 2018 and there are plenty of choices that looked like they could be excellent movies on the docket.
