Over 5,000 guests are expected at the 2017 Lagos Comic Con (LCC), an event that brings together comics, games, animation, films and virtual reality under one festival roof.
The LCC, themed ‘Empower, Heritage and Future’, is scheduled for September 15 and 16 at NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos. Aside from exhibitions, awards, competitions and stage performances, it will also host numerous workshops and panel discussions on industry relevant topics with speakers from all over the world.
This year, expected speakers include Tristan Schafer of Old Soul Films, South Africa, Comfort Arthur, a British born animation film maker, Stuart Forest, CEO of Triggerfish Animation Studio in South Africa and many more.
New projects are also expected to be unveiled and new films premiered, as is the tradition. Event spotlights would include a vibrant exhibition hall with a lively stage for nonstop activities, gaming zone, kid zone (KidCon), panel discussion, FIST Awards, cosplay, red carpet, raffle draws, board games, VR zone, animation pavilion, comics pavilion, film screenings, and so on.
The LCC is an annual event organized by Mustardseed Communication International. It is in its 6th edition this year and has grown from 3,000 guests in 2012 to over 3,000 guests in 2016 in a one day event. In 2017, 5,000 guests are expected as a result of the increased activities of this year’s event.
